Interestingly enough, the following chapter–chapter 19–was actually the opening chapter of the Something Strange and Deadly in early drafts of the book. It also happens to be Susan Dennard’s favorite scene from the book.
Why? Because it has action, a touch of romance, and Eleanor Fitt doing what she does best: getting into trouble and then sorting her way out of it again.
